Baylor College of Medicine and Department Summary:

The Division of Psychology within the Department of Pediatrics includes more than 60 pediatric, clinical, and neuropsychologists practicing across subspecialty areas at Texas Children's Hospital, providing care in both the inpatient and outpatient environments. Baylor College of Medicine (BCM), our academic home, is also home to outstanding psychology training programs at the graduate, internship, and postdoctoral levels.

Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) is the largest children's hospital in the United States and the primary teaching/training center for BCM’s Department of Pediatrics. Summary

The IRU at TCH is a 16-bed, CARF-accredited unit that provides comprehensive care and addresses the physical, cognitive, psychological, developmental, and educational needs of patients and their families. The IRU is staffed by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals, and significant consultation and collaborative care is expected.

Job Duties

The psychologist in this role will provide pediatric psychology services to children and adolescents admitted to the Texas Children’s Hospital Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit (IRU). Some post-discharge outpatient services will also be expected.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A doctorate in clinical, counseling, or school psychology from an APA or CPA approved program
  • Completed an APA-accredited psychology internship
  • Licensure or license-eligibility in Texas
