Job Description

Summary

The Department of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated scheduler to join their Sugar Land practice.

The position requires patient education and navigation through the patient's journey, including prepping patients for the procedure and scheduling the procedure with BCM & St. Luke's EMR. The candidate will also triage patients by working with providers and clinical team for any referrals that could be scheduled as a clinic visit or procedure. The candidate will register the patient in both EMRs, review incoming referrals and orders, and answer patient calls and/or MyChart Messages.

The candidate will work Monday to Friday, 8 hours daily. The Sugar Land location offers free parking.

Job Duties

  • Reviews incoming referrals and orders.
  • Triages patients.
  • Schedules appointments and/or procedures in BCM and BSLMC, assuring that every referred patient will have a procedure date scheduled.
  • Works closely with the referral center.
  • Contacts patients for instruction before the procedures and notifies patient of date/time/arrival time.
  • Requests additional information from referring physicians if needed.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong organization skills.
