Job Description
Kennedy-King College is seeking a Coordinator - Information Technology. This position is primarily responsible for supervising the college’s technical support for IT systems, hardware and software.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensures technology systems, hardware and software are available to support student learning and overall college operations.
Supervises the documentation, assignment and resolution of user help requests and production support issues, via the district technology service management tool.
Collaborates with campus based and district office network and application support teams to identify and correct problems.
Maintains the IT knowledge database for technical staff.
Coordinates with the Manager of IT and other colleagues to review customer service level agreements and performance measurements.
Assists with software upgrades and other maintenance efforts.
Develops and generates reports to determine work assignment and problem trends.
Assists with other college initiatives, such as, but not limited to, registration, as needed.
Adheres to CCC Customer Service Excellence standards.
Completes other duties as assigned, including, but not limited to, adherence to after hours, emergency, holiday and/or on-call schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field supplemented by four to six years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with a history of progressively increasing responsibility and accomplishments, preferably, in a college or comparable academic setting.
Strong personal computer troubleshooting skills and an understanding of Microsoft and Windows servers.
Knowledge of local and wide area networking concepts, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
Knowledge of server administration support for various operating systems including Microsoft Windows Server and Linux.
Knowledge of Novell networking concepts, support and troubleshooting.
Previous supervisory and ability to evaluate the work of subordinate staff.
Ability to be self-directed and innovative, and assess current operations in an effort to improve the future goals of the District.
Sound verbal and written communication skills.
Great team player and self-starter.
Must be available to work evenings & weekends.
