Qualifications:
Colloquium invites leading scholars and professionals to campus or on zoom to address the department's graduate students. The colloquium focuses on a different topic each year, introducing students to the different current events affecting sport.
This course will be taught in a hybrid format, one-time per/month (determined with the Department Chair) during the 2026 Spring term on Wednesday from 6:00 - 9:00 pm.
In addition to teaching, the instructor is expected to hold regular office hours (a minimum of one hour per week) in order to provide students with support outside of the classroom.
The successful candidate will hold a terminal degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field and have a recent publication record in the field, or a Master's degree in Kinesiology or a closely related field and have at least five years of current, relevant professional experience. Demonstrated teaching effectiveness at the graduate level as evidenced by recent course evaluations is strongly preferred as is the ability to teach a course in a hybrid format. Candidates should be comfortable supporting and working in a multi-cultural environment. Preference will be given to those who have taught the course, or KINES 380.
Candidates must reside in California.
The salary range for this position is $2,482 - $3,436 (1 unit) and is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available here.
