We are looking to add a caregiver who is competent in comprehensive audiologic evaluations and amplification with a special interest in cochlear implants and sensory devices. You will provide best practices for hearing tests and hearing aids using family-centered care.
This is a PRN position. Caregivers in this role will work various hours filling in and covering for other caregivers. Starting times will be either 7:30am or 8:00am.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Deliver audiologist services to patients complaining of hearing or balance disorders.
- Perform diagnostic testing to determine the nature and extent of hearing impairment.
- Perform electronystagmography to obtain information about the condition of the vestibular system.
- Perform hearing aid evaluations.
- Dispense hearing aids and assistive listening devices.
- Counsel patients regarding their hearing impairment and inform them of available treatment options.
- Perform real ear testing to verify hearing aids are providing appropriate amplification.
- Provide information concerning available material and related community services.
- Maintain complete and up-to-date documentation and files at all times, including product and service quotes.
- Maintain patient, medical record, department and employee confidentiality at all times.
- Maintain communication with physicians, nurses and other departments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of infection control practices.
- Follows Code Blue protocol as per CCF policy.
- Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Master’s in Audiology and Speech Pathology
- Eligible for a Florida Speech and Hearing Professionals Board license to practice audiology upon hire
- Must hold Florida Speech and Hearing Professionals Board license to practice audiology upon start date
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Completion of fellowship year and supervision by Head Audiologist

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to assist patients with mobility problems.
- Good hand dexterity to manipulate small objects associated with hearing aids, cochlear implants, etc.
- Ability to push carts which carry audiology test equipment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
