JOB PURPOSE:The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a position as Assistant Professor (tenure-track) in Construction Management beginning August 2026. This is a full-time, 9-month, benefitted position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The duties of the position are:
To teach undergraduate courses in Construction Management, typically three courses per year during the pre-tenure period.
To perform scholarly research, including:
To secure and complete externally-funded research projects
To disseminate results through scholarly publications and presentations
To recruit, mentor, and advise graduate students
To perform service to the home Department, College, and the University, including ACCE-accreditation activities, student mentoring, and community-engagement activities.
WORK LOCATION:
This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D. in a construction-related discipline from a North American institution, completed by August 2026.
Demonstrated ability to conduct research in construction-related subject areas.
Ability (subject matter expertise) to teach core undergraduate courses in Construction Management, including some of the following: Statics and Structural Systems, Soils and Concrete, Heavy Civil Construction, Project Management, Construction Estimating, Construction Scheduling.
Familiarity with software tools used in the construction sector.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience teaching courses in Construction Management at the university level.
Demonstrated experience writing research proposals for external funding.
Clear vision for future research.
Professional work experience in the building industry.
Professional licensure or credentialing.

The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management includes 24 faculty members and serves approximately 440 students. At the undergraduate level we have ABET-accredited B.S. degrees in Civil Engineering and Architectural Engineering, a B.S. degree in Construction Management, and a Certificate in Cadastral Surveying.
