The Augusta University School of Public Health was established in 2023 to address Georgia's distinct public health challenges through exceptional education, innovative research, and collaborative community engagement. We are leveraging the strengths of Georgia's only public academic medical center, combining public health expertise with clinical knowledge to train future public health leaders. Our school is comprised of three academic departments: Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Data Science, Community & Behavioral Health Sciences, and Health Management, Economics & Policy. We offer a variety of degree programs, from specialized master's options to doctoral programs that create the next generation of public health researchers. Our research mission is critical to our long-term impact; we strongly emphasize scholarly productivity through peer-reviewed publications, scientific presentations, and grant-funded projects. Annually, we attract more than $6M in extramural funding.
Job Summary
The School of Public Health is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to manage daily faculty affairs operations under the direction of the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs. This position will also work closely with the Dean and Director of Finance and Administration to implement policies and procedures related to faculty matters. This position will play a key role in faculty recruitment, appointments, reappointments, development, and all faculty-related actions.
This position also provides day-to-day oversight of faculty processes including hiring/recruitment, annual faculty evaluations, Promotion and Tenure, Pre-Tenure Review, Post-Tenure Review, and Part-Time/Adjunct Appointments/ Reappointments. This position will oversee and coordinate faculty development activities, and faculty on-boarding to ensure smooth transitions for new faculty members.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
FACULTY PROCESSES: Act as the liaison between the School of Public Health, the Dean, Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs, EVP for Academic Affairs & Provost, and VP for Academic & Faculty Affairs. Ensure faculty action processes align with Board of Regents and University System of Georgia policies.
FACULTY RECRUITMENT: Coordinate all tasks related to faculty recruitment, including posting positions, managing timelines, coordinating virtual and campus interviews and any related travel.
FACULTY POSTING AND CLOSING RECRUITMENT: Ensure timely posting and closing of faculty recruitment requests. Using HR templates and details supplied by senior leadership, prepare initial offer letter drafts, Work to secure approvals on offer letters and ensure pre-onboarding requirements are met.
MANAGE FACULTY PROCESSES: Promotion & Tenure, Pre-Tenure and Post-Tenure Reviews, and Part-time/Adjunct Reappointments.
MANAGE FACULTY EVALUATIONS: Manage annual faculty evaluations, including preparation of timelines and instructions for submitting required information. Ensure timely submission of all evaluation-related materials in compliance with Provost Office of Faculty Affairs guidance.
FACULTY DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES: Manage faculty development activities under the oversight of the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs. This may include developing content for a faculty-facing webpage, identifying outside experts who can provide training and mentorship to faculty in specific areas relevant to Public Health Faculty, and/or organizing workshops or other sessions that may benefit our faculty.
GUIDANCE TO COMMITTEES: Provide specialized knowledge and guidance to committees involved in academic or faculty-related decisions, ensuring that processes are followed properly and efficiently. Provide employee relations support for faculty members.
VERIFY FACULTY DATA FOR ACCURACY: Periodically process and verify faculty data for accuracy, responding to inquiries and ensuring data integrity for reports submitted to various university and Board of Regents offices.
OTHER: Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited college or university with a minimum of three years' related experience.
OR
Associate's degree for an accredited college or university with a minimum of six years' relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience in faculty affairs or academic administration.
Three years of experience in Human Resources or a related field.
Familiarity with policies and procedures as well as faculty governance structures.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Detail oriented with good organizational skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to work independently with only general supervision.
Ability to complete work and meet deadlines.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Salary Range: $52,500 annually - $65,600 annually
Pay Band: B10
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
