Job Summary
The Student Services Specialist I is responsible for responding to all inquiries for tuition classification and tuition and fee waivers. This position also maintains and processes the waivers in the student information system each semester, works with other offices responsible for waivers, ensures USG and AU policies and procedures are adhered to, and updates standard operating procedures and the AU tuition classification manual. The position also acts as a backup to other team members as needed.
Responsibilities
WAIVERS: Serve as the campus resource for policies and procedures related to waivers. Evaluate eligibility for waivers. Communicate about waivers as appropriate including but not limited to the need for additional documentation, a decision on waivers, feedback on documentation, or need for renewal. Apply waivers in BANNER. Scan and index documentation. Complete 100% audit each term until otherwise notified (pages 12-14 USG manual) - reminding all other offices of audits. Ensure coding for ADC before official reporting (SOAXREF). Validate ADC numbers for reporting of waivers. Maintain website information including all waiver applications. Keep up to date on all policy changes. Attend workshops.
TUITION CLASSIFICATION: Serve as campus resource for policies and procedures related to tuition classification. Manage all aspects of the tuition classification committee. Communicate decisions as appropriate. Update BANNER with correct residency coding. Audit tuition reclassification using ZSRTUIC. Audit tuition reclassification using internal reports (Page 15 USG manual), including checking all residency codes and fee class codes.
PROCEDURE MANUAL & SOPs: Make and update procedure manual. Complete and maintain standard operating procedures and ensure applicable information is on the website.
REPORTING & MCG/DCG RECORDS/REGISTRATION: Dual Enrolled Processing. TAP Reporting and Assistance to HR. Provide back up to MCG/DCG records and registration to include attendance verification and grading. Provide back up to transcript processing and withdrawals.
: Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma, GED or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and one year of administrative or customer service experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
Knowledge of the principles, policies and techniques of educational administration.
Knowledge of AU/USG policies and procedures.
Knowledge of integrated information systems.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
Strong problem-solving skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; M-F
Pay Band: B2
Salary: Minimum $15.77/hourly-$16.72/hourly
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
