Job Description
Summary
The intern will learn basic experimental tasks related to our DNA-TAG project where we develop a class of small, organic molecules to genetically correct pathogenic repeat expansions.
Job Duties
- Learns basic experimental techniques such as reagent and equipment preparation, sterilization and laboratory maintenance.
- Prepares standard solutions and simple culture media.
- Learns and assists with molecular cloning experiments.
- Prepares solutions and simple mammalian culture media, cleans laboratory equipment such as metal instruments, sinks and tables, assist with cell culture experiments. Interns will implement a related independent project as guided by the PI.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in high school or be a high school graduate (or equivalent secondary education) or enrolled in an institution of higher education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Willing to learn basic experimental tasks relevant to the project, interested in mammalian cell culture and molecular cloning experiments.
