Job Summary
In collaboration and consultation with the Institutional Effectiveness (IE) team, campus units, and university stakeholders, the Institutional Research Analyst serves as the primary contact for institutional data analysis and research projects to support activities that promote planning, continuous improvement and organizational effectiveness. The Institutional Research Analyst initiates, oversees, and conducts data analyses important to the university and communicates the results of these assessments to highlight conclusions. Findings are communicated in a variety of ways to support the effective use of results in planning and decision-making; through personal meetings with the sponsors, in dashboards, and in written reports including high level executive summaries.
Responsibilities
STUDENT SUCCESS INFORMATION AND ANALYSIS: Develops decision support and automated reporting solutions to support the academic mission of the university as it relates to student success. Develops and updates standardized information resources such as reports, website updates, dashboards, etc. on a regular schedule. Responds to ad hoc information requests. Incorporates external information resources for comparisons and benchmarking. Collaborates with IT to improve and expand data available to business intelligence solutions through data warehousing. Interacts with data stewards and customers to design information resources to meet their needs. Supports various Bl and query tools for accessing information resources. Summarizes and communicates results effectively in a variety of formats including executive summaries, reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
PLANNING AND ASSESSMENT ANALYTICAL SUPPORT: Provides analytical support for a set of standardized, scheduled reports and assessments related to student performance and academic planning initiatives including but not limited to, Complete College Georgia, Student Achievement reporting, Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange, Student Achievement Measure Initiative, Annual Benchmarking Analysis.
MAINTAIN AWARENESS: Maintains awareness of current data sources and technical innovations within the data analysis and business intelligence fields focused on higher education. Maintains membership of the Association of Institutional Research. Attends regional & national conferences & meetings. Assists in improving reporting and analytical tools and techniques in the fields of institutional research and business intelligence & analytics.

Required Qualifications
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study and a minimum of five years of experience managing analytical and business intelligence projects or related experience OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field of study and eight years of experience managing analytical and business intelligence projects or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in higher education and project management. Advanced analytics experience using predictive modeling and sentiment analysis. Experience working with statistical and survey software.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
KNOWLEDGE
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases including statistical and visual analytics tools.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.

Analytical skills and knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research design and measurement.
Strong analytical, statistical, facilitation, team leadership, research, presentation and documentation skills.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; M-F (Work outside of the regular business hours may be required)
Pay Band: B13
Salary: Minimum $68,500/annually - $70,304.99/annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
